Chess Tournament is organized by parents and library volunteers.


Pairing chart will be posted on this page.

4:45pm~5:00pm -- Check-in and find your seat.

5:0 5pm -- Games begin.
8:00pm -- Library closes.


Westlake Chess Association and Checkmate Kids Chess Club are non-profit organizations.


Please bring your own chess clock if possible.


  • Players must have a current valid USCF membership ID to participate.

  • August 2013 Rating supplement will be used for pairing purposes.

  • If you plan to be absent for a round, please request a 1/2 point BYE before pairing chart is posted.

  • 30 minutes no-show rule: A player who is absent for 30 minutes after a round begins is considered as a forfeit loss for that round unless you contact Tournament Director (512) 905-9969 to make arrangement in advance.

  • Players in Open Section must use a chess clock and take notation. Players are not required to notate once their game clock gets down to five minutes remaining.

  • Location: Laura Bush Library, 9411 Bee Cave Rd. Austin, TX 78733

  • Entry fees:

  • If register online on/before August 19th: $20/tournament or $5/game.

  • If register onsite: $25/tournament or $10/game.

  • Please register online, pay at the tournament.

Open Section Prizes and results:

         1st place: Rahul Battula $50 plus ICC 3 months membership card

         2nd & 3rd place: Ethan Hall and Rocco Trosclair (Tie): $25 each plus ICC card
        

         All players in open section will receive one 3 months ICC membership card
