USCF Rated, Swiss System

2 Sections: Open section, U800 section


Open Section -- 3 rounds

    G75 with 5 sec delay. One round of games per week.

    11/4, 11/11, 11/18.

    Open to anyone.

    Players with USCF ratings 1800+ receive free entry.

    75% returned as cash prizes plus 3-month Internet Chess Club

    Memberships (ICC memberships to top 3 finishers, and top U1000). 


U800 Section -- 3 rounds

    G30 with 5 sec delay. One round of games per week.

    11/4, 11/11, 11/18.

    Open to all ages with USCF ratings Under 800.

    Players must have current valid USCF IDs to participate.

    75% returned as cash prizes to top finishers.


Please bring your own chess set and clock if possible.

Westlake Chess Association and Checkmate Kids Chess Club are non-profit organizations. Chess Tournament is organized by parents and library volunteers.

4:50pm~5:00pm -- Check-in and find your seat.

5:10pm Rules announcement

5:1 5pm -- Games begin.
8:00pm -- Library closes.

Details:
Players must have a current valid USCF membership ID to participate.
  •  November 2013 Rating supplement will be used for pairing purposes.

  •  If you plan to be absent for one round, please request a 1/2 point BYE before first round pairing chart is posted.

  •  30 minutes no-show rule: A player who is absent for 30 minutes after a round begins will be considered as a forfeit loss for that round unless you contact Tournament Director (512) 905-9969 to make arrangement in advance.

  •  Players in Open Section must use a chess clock and take notation. Players are not required to notate once their game clock gets down to five minutes remaining.

  •  Entry fee: $15 (or $5/per game)

     Register online, pay at the tournament site.

  •  Online registration is required and highly appreciated!
