Summer 2014 Chess Tournament

USCF Rated, Swiss System . 

2 Sections: Open section, U800 section

Open Section -- 4 rounds

    G75 with 5 sec delay. One round of games per week.

    7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18. 

    Open to all ages.

    Players with USCF ratings 1800+ receive free entry.

    Cash Prizes to top finishers.

U800 Section -- 4 rounds

    G30 with 5 sec delay. One round of games per week.

    7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18. 

    Open to all ages with USCF ratings Under 800.

    Players must have current valid USCF IDs to participate.

    (If you do not have USCF ID, we can help you purchase or renew your ID before 1st round)

    Cash Prizes to top finishers.

Please bring your own chess clock if possible.

Westlake Chess Association and Checkmate Kids Chess Club are non-profit organizations. Chess Tournament is organized by parents and library volunteers.

4:45pm~5:00pm -- Check-in and find your seat.

5:05pm Rules announcement

5:1 0pm -- Games begin.
8:00pm -- Library closes.

Details: Players must have a current valid USCF membership ID to participate.

• July 2014 Rating supplement will be used for pairing purposes.

• If you plan to be absent for one round, please request a BYE before first round pairing chart is posted.

• 30 minutes no-show rule: A player who is absent for 30 minutes after a round begins will be considered as a forfeit loss for that round unless you contact Tournament Director (512) 905-9969 to make arrangement in advance.
  

• Players in Open Section must use a chess clock and take notation. 

•  Tournament entry fee: $8 (or $5/per game if you wish to play only 1 game)
